

Investigators from several countries, as well as the International Criminal Court, have been gathering and examining evidence to determine whether war crimes have been committed. Ukraine says it has identified thousands of war crimes committed by Russian troops during the war.

The retreat of Russian forces from Bucha, Borodyanka, Irpin, and other towns near Kyiv in April has revealed harrowing evidence of brutal killings, torture, mass graves, and the indiscriminate targeting of civilians in the fighting. "I admire the courage of the women and men who are in the process of bringing these cities back to life after the barbarism that took place," he added.
